inKind
About US
We are local business owners who have developed an awesome way to help grow your business.
Our Story
As told by our Founder & CEO, Johann Moonesinghe
Owning my own restaurant really opened my eyes to how... awesome and powerful a group of regular customers can be.
I love food. I love having friends over for dinner, drinking wine with family, and cooking with my husband. So of course, when the opportunity to open a restaurant came up, I jumped on it.

Owning my own restaurant really opened my eyes to the struggles a local business goes through, but also how awesome and powerful a group of regular customers can be.

I strived to give them consistently great service, which isn't always easy when I am not at the restaurant myself. I designed the inKind mobile app as a way to reward my best customers for their continued loyalty and also to ensure that they have a great experience whenever they come in. It worked really well, so now I'm helping other local businesses sell House Accounts through our app.
Our Team
Johann Moonesinghe
CEO, Wine Aficionado
Johann mixes an entrepreneur's boldness with his discerning palate. In addition to making angel investments in several early stage technology companies, he has also invested in two bars and several restaurants. The idea for inKind was born out of those investments. inKind marks Johann's third technology startup. madKast, a 2007 TechStars Boulder company, was acquired by industry-leader ShareThis in 2008. Johann has a degree in Computer Science and Engineering from UCLA.
Derek Keller
CFO, Anti-Carb King
Derek has spent the last decade investing in technology companies through Techstars Ventures and Highway 12 Ventures, and continues to pinch himself as he's enjoyed a front row seat watching seed investments in the likes of SendGrid and Omniture both exit for nearly $4B in aggregate. An operator by day and a VC by night, Derek enjoys operating in the trenches with passionate founders for quarters at a time. He's previously been CFO at both Pilotworks and Lendio and continues to serve on a variety of boards. Although possessing a less sophisticated palate than founder Johann, Derek's smile far exceeds most when enjoying exceptional tastes.
