Financial Controller

Role Summary:
As the Financial Controller for inKind, you will be responsible for overseeing and directing the accounting functions for the company, our associated financing and investment vehicles, and our international subsidiaries. The Financial Controller will be our internal lead for preparing financial reports, managing the accounting function, and ensuring all financial systems and processes are running smoothly. The Financial Controller will also be responsible for guiding the company through our annual audit and tax processes.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, and present the results to internal and external stakeholders
  • Work to institutionalize financial procedures and historical information
  • Create and collaborate on projects for Senior leaders and investors
  • Work closely with the CFO to determine accounting and tax implications for business decisions
  • Establish an internal audit function and set of procedures
  • Manage tax audits, compliance and disputes
  • Prepare and review monthly Net Asset Valuations for company assets, and serve as the team lead for our third-party fund administrator
  • Create new process improvements to provide more transparency and oversight into company spending and use of funds
Requirements
  • Highly resourceful individual with strong problem solving skills
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at a Director or Senior level
  • Active CPA required
  • Up to date on current GAAP standards
  • Prior positions in a growth-mode company/tech background
  • Excellent communicator with attention to detail
  • Highly proficient in Excel accounting systems software
  • Bonus points for:
  • SQL proficiency
  • Familiarity with fund accounting
  • Experience scaling a finance department
