Software Test Engineer

Role Summary:
We are looking for a Software Test Engineer to take charge of coordinating, planning and participating in testing efforts for the ecosystem of our products and services. The Software Testing Engineer will utilize automated and manual testing procedures to assess the functionality of APIs, internal and customer-facing web portals, mobile apps, integrations with 3rd parties, and tools. The responsibilities will also include developing testing processes and procedures, creating documentation, and communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Play a critical role in planning and development of new and existing test infrastructure
  • Develop an understanding of the current architecture, it's strengths and limitations
  • Gathering and clarifying requirements, communication clearly and consistently with members of the development team.
  • Coordinate testing efforts for our products and services

Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of test engineering with strong experience in integration, API testing, and backend testing
  • Confident in basic math and familiarity with basic accounting concepts (ledgers, debits, credits, percentage based fees, etc)
  • Experience testing RESTful APIs utilizing tools (ex: Postman/Insomnia, RestAssured, Stoplight, etc)
  • Experience building test systems from scratch
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of test design best practices
  • Suggest ways to improve the current processes and tools
  • Participate in key test engineering initiatives
  • Takes initiative and ownership for all testing efforts
  • Experience with testing software in a client/server, Web, database, and mobile application
  • Experience with automation tools
  • A love for restaurants and the hospitality industry

Nice to have:

  • Experience with automation tools to validate both front and backend functionality.
  • Some hands on programming experience
  • Exposure to React in a professional environment
  • Experience working with SQL
  • Working knowledge of Ruby on Rails
  • Experience with Git via a GUI or its command line
